TM launches new digital mobile plan via webe

SUBANG JAYA: Gone are the days where smartphone users have to worry about not having enough data as Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) has just launched a simple plan for as low as RM79 per month with unlimited calls, text and data usage through its latest digital mobility services provider - webe.

Its Chief Executive Officer Azizi A Hadi said that worries of data caps and quota are unnecessary baggage because webe “set consumers free” through unlimited domestic calls, SMS, and data without contracts to emphasise on simplicity and enriching customer experience.

“The worries of data caps and quota are unnecessary baggage due to heavy usage of mobility services. This is the beginning of data liberation,” said Azizi in his speech here Tuesday.

He added that the internet is an essential daily tool that consumers want to be able to enjoy and use freely with peace of mind.

Communication and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak, who officiated at the launching, said that webe mobile service was part of the government’s initiatives to assist online entrepreneurs to stimulate the economy by leveraging on digital.

“I’m delighted and applaud TM Group’s move to build and upgrade its 4G LTE network through webe. As the data traffic gets larger, the challenge we face now is to meet the right demand for data,” he said.
